DID NOT ATTEND (“DNA”) POLICY
EFFECTIVE: 15 th August 2023
What is a “DNA” – A DNA occurs when a patient does not attend a scheduled appointment without prior notice of cancellation.
Why does Myhealth Coomera need a DNA policy?
1. Our doctors are often fully booked at the commencement of any day
2. Many people need to see their doctor urgently
3. Many people ask to be put on a waiting list in case an appointment becomes available earlier than their scheduled appointment

Dr Richard Ayling is Retiring
Dr Richard Ayling has now retired from medicine. Dr Cristina Penanueva will be looking after Dr Aylings patients and any pending results.
If you wish to see another doctor elsewhere, please ask your new general practice to send us a “Transfer of Medical Records Request” so we can send your medical records to your new GP.

APPOINTMENTS & WAITING TIMES
Consultation is by appointment. Patients must make an appointment to see a doctor. If you have more than one health concern or a complex issue to discuss, please request a longer appointment at the time of booking. Same day appointments are available for urgent cases. A separate appointment must be made for each family member. Appointments can be made in person or over the phone (Walk-in appointments available). Please let our receptionist know if you require prompt attention to matters such as chest pain, burns, eye injury etc.
Nobody likes to be kept waiting. Our staff understand this and endeavour to manage all appointments as punctually as possible. However, due to the unpredictable nature of a medical practice – doctors do frequently run behind time. We regret any inconvenience caused due to these delays. Please feel free to contact our surgery staff to confirm whether your doctor is running on time BEFORE you arrive for your appointment. For continuity of care it is recommended to see your usual doctor, however, if they are unavailable you are welcome to see one of the other doctors in the practice.
Patients who see any of our mixed billing doctors may incur an out of pocket fee from $20.
Our fees reflect the quality of our service and vary according to the complexity of service, or if a procedure is performed. Payment can be made by cash, cheque, credit card or EFTPOS.

DNA POLICY- CANCELLATION FEES
PLEASE CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT USING THE MYPRACTICE APP OR BY PHONING RECEPTION AT LEAST 2HOURS PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT TO AVOID INCURRING ANY FEES.
Standard Appointment – $40 fee for DNA or under 2hours notice to cancel
Long Appointment/Procedure – $80 fee for DNA or under 2hours notice to cancel
If you incur a cancellation fee, this must be paid for before another appointment is booked.
All age groups are subject to receive a cancellation fee for DNA’s
