ALL Doctors are now Mixed Billing
FROM 01 July 2023
Dear valued community,
In order to keep up with rising costs and continue providing you with our services, we are now required to move to a mixed-billing model.
This means that a $30 – $40 GAP (out of pocket) fee will apply for GP Consultations.
Eligible patients will continue to be bulk-billed: Pension/Concession card holders and children aged 15 & under only on weekdays. Fees will incur on weekends and public holidays apply to ALL patients.

Starting from July, our clinics will transition to a mixed billing system on weekdays and private billings on weekends and public holidays.

Important Changes to Billing Policy
Dear Valued Patients,
We are writing to inform you of the important changes to our billing policy at Myhealth Doncaster East. After long and careful consideration, we have made a decision to introduce mixed billing to this clinic effective on 01 July 2023 for all consultations.
- A $30 GAP FEE applies to all WEEKDAY consultations including Face to Face and Telehealth except Children age of 15 or under, Pension Card Holders / DVA Card and Health Care Card Holders.
- A $30 GAP FEE applies to WEEKEND and PUBLIC HOLIDAY consultations including Face to Face and Telehealth for ALL patients including concession card holders and childrens.
- A $40 GAP FEE is applicable for long consultations ≥ 20 minutes.
These changes will come into effect from 01 July 2023.
• What is mixed billing?
Mixed billing means that patients will be paying a “gap fee” for their appointment. A gap payment out of pocket cost between Medicare rebate and our practice’s fee.
• How will the fee be processed?
You will be charged the full amount of consultation fee to your credit or debit card at the end of your consultation. We then process your Medicare Rebate on behalf of you electronically. The rebate should appear in your bank account within 1-2 business days.
Alternatively, please bring your debit card with you on your visit and we can process your rebate on the spot.
Please make sure you have provided your updated Medicare details and have sufficient funds in your account.

We also welcome both appointments and walk-ins, as well as providing Telehealth Consults. Please note that we have a cancellation and no-show policy stipulating a $30 fee for a no-show or cancelled GP/NP appointment 2 hours before the scheduled appointment and a $30 fee for a no-show or cancellation for Allied Health Appointment 24 hours prior to the appointment.
