Profile

Dr Saba Alessawy’s interests include skin and skin cancer procedures, paediatrics, women’s health, chronic disease management, weight-loss management, simple procedures, mental health, Aboriginal health, Workers Compensation, preventative medicine, and trauma medicine.

In addition to English Dr Saba speaks Arabic.

Dr Saba graduated from Medical College in Basrah, Iraq in 2003. As the country was going through war Dr Saba worked as a humanitarian doctor with a variety of organisations.

These included Save the Children, People in Need, and Doctors Without Borders, as well as helping to establish a deaf and mute school for children, a leprosy centre, a rural development program, and an Anti TB organisation.

Dr Saba moved to Australia in 2005, having passed her AMC. She began working in Redland Hospital in Queensland, then practiced in country Queensland whilst living in Chinchilla.

Whilst living there she developed an interest in Skin Cancer and Skin Cancer surgery.

Dr Saba then did her advance training of skin cancer surgery and achieved a Diploma of Dermatology from The University of Queensland as well as a Diploma of Children’s Health from Westmead NSW.

Dr Saba also worked as an educator for GP registrars with GP T. QLD, participating in teaching medical students.

In 2016 Dr Saba moved to Sydney and has since been practicing with Brigadoon Medical Centre now Myhealth Brigadoon.
