Dr Saima completed medical school (MBBS) in Wollongong in 2014, after which she completed a Diploma in Child Health. She then completed her GP training in 2019 in the Bathurst region. She has worked in multiple medical clinics since and continues to work in Hornsby Emergency on a part-time basis. She also works in a volunteer capacity with Street-Side Medical helping disadvantaged groups.

She has a special interest in dermatology, allergy and occupational medicine, particularly railway and diving certification.
