Profile
Dr Tan graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1994 and has worked in wide ranging disciplines in the hospitals with a predominance of Emergency Medicine, before settling on Family Medicine.
She has been a General Practitioner since 2001. She moved to South Australia in 2004, working as a registrar in Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine at Lyell McEwin Hospital before becoming a rural GP and Visiting Medical Officer in Gawler Health Service, in the beautiful Barossa Valley.
Her husband’s work offered the opportunity to move again to Brisbane in 2007, where she has been a fulltime GP since.
She obtained her Post Graduate Diploma in Geriatric Medicine and was also awarded Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
She has a special interest in looking after senior patients and young children, as well as any age group in between.
She enjoys the full spectrum of general practice and places strong emphasis on continuity of care of the whole person.
When not at work, she can be found walking in solitude or pounding away at her piano, which she cannot imagine a life without.
