Dr Tarek Shalabi is a highly qualified GP, skin cancer and cosmetics doctor.

Dr Tarek practices with a holistic and comprehensive approach to all of his patients. He provides consultations for patients of all ages and conditions. His special interests include skin cancer checks and excisions, cosmetic anti-wrinkle injections, dermal & lip fillers, facial threads (non surgical facelift), and ingrown toenail excisions.

He practices at Myhealth Marketplace (Marsden) and Myhealth South East Skin and Medical (Yarrabilba).

Dr Tarek was born and raised in Nottingham, England, the land of Robin Hood, Nottingham Forest, Wayne Manor and Stilton cheese!! He completed his medical school training at the prestigious University of Nottingham. He trained in trauma and orthopaedic surgery at Queens Medical Centre, centre of excellence of trauma.

In 2016, Dr Tarek was invited to work at Gold Coast University Hospital emergency department. He worked there for two intense years as an emergency registrar which included looking after the busy department at night. He then completed his general practice training in the South Brisbane region and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners in 2021.

During his general practice training he has been mentored in skin cancer medicine and surgery by Dr Julian Fox. In addition he has completed an advanced course in cosmetic anti wrinkle injections and dermal fillers with Dermamedical Australia. He is also trained to provide silhouette soft facial treads (non-surgical facelift).

Dr Tarek has a strong interest in teaching and research. He frequently delivers education sessions to Griffiths University and to junior doctors.  He has over 50 international presentations and publications. He has received multiple international awards and prizes including the best case presentation at Derby Medical Society, UK, the Jacques Duparc Award for best European poster presentation,  and third place presentation at the Centre of Global surgery, Utah, USA.
