Kathleen has a Bachelors, Honours and Masters degree in Psychology from Macquarie University, and is currently completing her PhD in Medicine at Sydney University. Kathleen has a warm, understanding, empathetic approach and believes that being heard and acknowledged is key to the therapeutic process. She believes that the client is the expert in their own life and works with them in a collaborative way to achieve their goals. Kathleen is experienced in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Schema Therapy, and tailors her approach to suit the client’s needs. She is experienced in a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, bipolar, grief, eating disorders, OCD, and PTSD. She has a special interest in helping couples experiencing relationship difficulties.
Kathleen says “I am a warm and compassionate therapist, who believes that being truly heard and acknowledged is critical to the therapeutic process. While I have three degrees in Psychology, and knowledge and experience of multiple therapies, strategies and techniques, I believe that the validation of the client’s lived experience is where healing starts”.
